The Market remains in Red Light mode according to the 1-2-3 model. The Inflation Model has remains at a negative two inflation stars ("deflation").

A good performer for me has been shorting the discretionary retail sector, by buying puts. Consumers are putting themselves on a strict diet, so they're shopping less often at Target and more often at Wal Mart. (And buying fewer CDs and the same amount of frozen pizzas.)

Have fun trading this week. We passed final building inspection (3 of 4), so we have electrical still to go. The inspector wants to ask some questions about the photovoltaic system.

The Market remains in Red Light mode according to the 1-2-3 model. The Inflation Model has remains at a negative two inflation stars ("deflation"). (When the S&P 500 Price/Earnings ratio dropped below 17 last week, I should have marked it as a yellow light. But now that it has risen above it, it is back to a red light.) I think this is because different companies on the S&P have lowered their earnings forecasts.

Have fun trading this week. We passed plumbing and mechanical inspections, so we have building and electrical to still go. I will be working on the deck railings this weekend.

The Market remains in Red Light mode according to the 1-2-3 model. The Inflation Model has remains at a negative two inflation stars ("deflation"). The S&P 500 Price/Earnings ratio briefly dropped below 17, but has since risen above it. I think this is because different companies on the S&P are dropping in their earnings forecast.

Have fun trading this week. I'm spending nights and weekends at the new house... so many things to do.
